Within the world of indie filmmaking, especially in the DMV market (that’s DC/Maryland/Virginia to my northern contingent), good will and good looking out are the keys to success. When one succeeds, we all succeed! And so, I give you “Final Draft” by my friend John Lawrence at Ventana Productions. (check the credits for my favorite person – ME!)
“Final Draft” screened at the 2013 Off-Centered short film festival at the Alamo Draft house theater in Austin, TX. Written and Directed by John Lawrence, starring Christopher “Rip” Cantelmi as a beer appreciator who is so consumed with the complexities of quality beer that he does not notice the end of the world is upon him.
Guidelines for the festival: theme was “hip hop, off centered”, and the film had to provide at least one reference to dogfish head beer.
Shot with a small crew in 3 days with the Red Scarlet camera and edited by Greg Compton in about 2 weeks of working nights.
